WMU OPERA 2024
This project was for Western Michigan University’s 2024 Opera. The goal was to design a poster and accompanying graphics to promote the event.
DESIGN PROCESS
An important part of this project was understanding what kind of opera this was. Dido and Aeneas is a Shakespearian style drama. A romantic, greek tragedy of sorts. Understanding this would define the vibes and style of the poster.
The design process involved a lot of rough illustration and experimenting to find what the client liked. It also involved a lot of type experimentation. The typography and the illustration needed to work off of each other.
RESULTS
Once a final design for the poster was settled on, the graphics could be adjusted for alternate uses, such as social media posts and a 1920 x 1080 banner to be projected at the event.
